Compared with the drought of the early part of last year, this April was relatively quiet. The second half of the month was drier than average with one or two very pleasant spring days.
After a very wet start to the year it was noticeable that March was a much drier month, with rainfall at 20mm below the March ten-year average. Temperatures and wind were close to average for the month.
The first half of February saw a continuation of the very wet weather of the preceding month. The second half of the month saw a return to more normal February weather with milder conditions and less rainfall, but still the wettest February for the last five years.
The most noticeable aspect of this month was the rainfall; it was the wettest January in Glanton for a decade and at 210mm it was over twice as much as last January.
